I’m a physician with diverse intellectual interests. This is a personal notebook, not a publication — a place to keep thinking that would otherwise disappear into chat logs and margins.

What shows up here is whatever I’m actually working on: arguments about AI and what minds are, Latin and the classics, clinical reasoning and how medicine handles uncertainty, coffee, and books. Most entries are notes — short, unfinished, sometimes wrong. A few are essays, which means only that I sat with the argument longer, not that I’ve settled it.

Publishing under my own name is deliberate. It means a post goes up only once I’ve read it as something a stranger might find on its own, with none of the context it came from. That rules out carelessness, not uncertainty — being wrong in public is the point of keeping this where anyone can see it.

Two conventions worth knowing. Each post carries an epistemic status saying how much weight it can bear. And when I get something wrong, the correction is dated and appended at the bottom rather than quietly edited into the original, so the record of having been wrong survives.

I use large language models heavily — to argue against ideas before I write, to find sources and prior art, and to cut and tighten drafts afterward. The arguments and the prose are mine. Factual claims that originate with a model get checked against a real source or removed, and anything clinical is held to a higher standard than that.
